You have done a good job Kasumi, but I think that in Victoria we should be structuring our lesson sequence around the e5 please check here-e5Also the current lesson sequence is very focussed on immigration, not the goldrush. In this case the excursion should be to the immigration museum not sovereign hill. I do not see the relevance for a poster making session in grade 3/4. Lesson sequence Overview-
This lesson sequence has been developed for a grade ¾ composite class who are using their inquiry based learning to compare and contrast that of two other grade ¾ classes in another school via a wiki. The students from this class are developing their understanding of the gold rush through the experiences of a school based field trip in which they re-enact life during gold rush times. The other two classes will be experiencing field trips to Sovereign Hill, Victoria.
I have done another one ( link above) which I will use. Please please feel free to use the other one if you like. It really doesn't matter. I will state in my evaluation that our group had two and I chose this one because it was more appropriate to my planning.ImogenIt needs a little tidy up and will add above topic that it is for a grade 3/4 class who will be comparing and contrasting theirlearning via a wiki with two other grade 3/4 classes who will actually visit SH. Hi ,I am getting very confused. This unit plan is all about immigration not the gold rush per sa. This seems a little over grade 3/4's heads. More suited to secondry. What about the lives and struggles of gold miners, including the chinese of course leading to the Eureka stockade?Imogen

There is template about planning artefacts seems puzzled to me not sure if we on the right track. Seems to me it different what we do. Maybe I being parnoid otherwise the proforma what you did was great brilliant . We might need to add to the planning that the 'field trip' is actually a camp, not an excursion. As I said in our earlier discussions, If I were going to take my class to sovereign hill it is 12 hour round trip. So for my students this would mean a camp, not a day trip. This then effects prices, bookings etc.Imogen

I am catching up all my email, few things on computer. Imogen you have been fantastic alot of ideas. all are great. I agree with you is actually a camp not an excursion. I am sure our lesson plan what Kasumi have done and Imogen add more for appendix it had covered mostly of things. What do you all reckon?? I was thinking this week we could start to do brainstorming of written evaluation of this fieldwork planning. I want you guys to clarify with me on Task description said An indivdual written evaluation meaning 1200 words each person or in group 1200 words ??So we can do patch up by next week , I just realised it only about 15 more days to go eeeek. Hi Heather, no there is no assessment to the group part of this. our evaluation is entirely our own. We just use these plans as a springboard type of thing. We submit these things ( to be included in our individual appendices) but do our evaluation of this planning for our field trips entirely on our own. I spoke to Robbie and a camp doesn't suit, so I will either do my excursion in a different place, or pretend I am a lot closer to sovereign Hill! I kinda wish I had thought of doing something about our river but anyway- not a huge one! We have enough for our appendices so we don't really need that much collaboration anymore. Yeah I was wondering where you guys went. I was thinking hmmmm....but it's not uni holidays...??? oh well .....ImogenEureka Flag
